Homecoming Festivities

Good thing last week wasn't academically demanding for me... otherwise I would be in deep, deep trouble. Most of my time and energy last week was spent taking part in all the fun homecoming activities, which explains my barely there blogging (homecoming theme was "lost worlds", ps). So much was going on all week. HAVOC life, bonfires, football game, the whole shebang. Thank you so much to all my professors who gave me an "easy" week. I quite enjoyed it.
So here's a just little bit of Furman's homecoming activities-
Sunday- My friend Kasey was in a competition called HAVOC (it's like Survivor, but also raising money for charity). Completely unique to Furman and so much fun to watch and participate in. Sunday I watched Kasey perform and dominate her Dorothy skit (her "lost world" was the land of Oz from The Wizard of Oz. I have so much respect for everyone who took part in HAVOC. There's no way I could sleep outside in the cold, not shower, and wear a costume for a week. Oh boy. Way to go people.
Kasey & Carl/Toto before the Sunday night skits- isn't she a cutie?

Tuesday- YouTube sensation, GLOZEL, came to Furman. If you haven't seen her videos, look her up. She's hilarious. Sadly, I dind't get to see her because I had practice, but my hall is still talking about her comedic genius.
Friday-I watched the Horseplay skits put on by Greek life (funny skits that Greeks put on in hope of winning their homecoming compeitions- usually accompanied with obnoxious singing and dancing). Then I went to the bonfire, ate one too many s'mores, and walked around the Furman mall looking at all of the floats, indulging in the carnival food, and riding the Ferris wheel. Yes, Furman had a carnival. It was great.
Rachel and I before the carnival (we didn't plan to match, promise)

Saturday- Furman beat Wofford! GO 'dins!! There was also the homecoming dance downtown. A great way to get all dressed up and hang out with your friends to celebrate the end of homecoming week.
Jack and I outside good ole 314

Sunday- Sleep late, look at all of the homework you've avoided all week, panic, and get to work.
**Random favorites of the week-
One of the HAVOCers dressed up as Waldo, and every time I saw him I saw him walking around campus I would smile knowing I "found Waldo." I wonder how many times he heard that joke...
The "Welcome Home" sign at the front gate of campus.

Seeing all of the alumni and current students at the football game. It's nice looking up from the field and seeing full stands. Furman students are notorious for leaving at halftime. Boo.

Happy Monday, friends. If that even exists...
